Who says that burgers can’t be healthy?! If you use your creativity, you can create a nutritional and healthy version of your favorite dish. This vegan burgers are full of flavor and good nutrients that can stimulate positively your body. Use the mixture to replace the buns or make small falafel balls from it. You can use them in a salad, put them in a pita bread or follow my idea and go healthy all the way. I’m sure that you will love them.
Chickpeas (called also garbanzo beans) are incredibly good for you. They are a great source of vegetable protein and fiber. They contain relatively low amount of calories (about 120 per 100 g), which helps with weight loss. Furthermore, they give you energy without raising your blood sugar level that much. The combination of chickpeas and black beans is even more beneficial for your body. Black beans contain almost no fat, low amount of calories (130 per 100 g) and high amount of protein and fiber.
Ingredients
- 500 g chickpeas, canned
- 300 g black beans, canned
- 20 g fresh cilantro
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 lime, juice
- 2 tbsp tahini paste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees C/430 degrees F. Cover a baking tray with a piece of baking paper or spray it with oil.
Wash the chickpeas under streaming water and drain them. Repeat the same with the black beans. This will wash any can taste. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
Make balls from the mixture. Place them on the baking tray and press down so that they look like burgers. Bake in the burgers in the preheated oven for 30 min. Serve them with lettuce, slices tomato, avocado and self-made humus. Enjoy!
